Do prayers work

I definitely believe in the power of prayer. God has answered many prayers for me, and my family. I also believing in prayer for others in their time of need. I can't begin to tell you how many prayers God has answered. He knows before we ask, what it is we need. He knows who we are praying for, whether we do or not. He knows, because He knows our hearts.

Prayer is talking to our Father. It's not a ritual. It's not to be done on command. It is communicating with your Creator, your Father in heaven. Faith is in knowing He hears you, and what it is you need to ask of Him. He needs to know that you have the faith to believe that He will hear and answer.

You can't question God, as to whether He will give you what you want or need, Your genuine faith is what will get your prayer answered. God will give us what we need, if it's in His will. He will only do what is best for us. God told us in scripture that He would supply all our needs according to riches in Glory. You also can't get angry with God if you don't get everything you want. Material items are not on His list of priorities. You want material items, you go out and work for them.

A lot of people feel that God ignores their prayers. No, He does not. He hears, He just does things in His time. He knows what lies ahead, and sometimes it's better if we have to wait till the time is right. He'll know, then your prayer will be answered according to your faithfulness, and your need. Sometimes we need to wait upon the Lord. We need to renew our strength, and the power that He has given us. Part of His teachings is patience. I don't know of many people that have a lot of that. Just don't pray for it because He will make you earn it.

Prayer and thanksgiving should be on a daily basis. You can and should talk to the Lord just to commune with Him. I love to stand under the stars at night and just talk to God. I don't have to have a need to talk to my Father. He doesn't deprive me of anything. He supplies what I need. Most of my prayers are for other people. Everybody has a need of some kind, whether it be spiritual, physical, mental. Some just need to be comforted.

I pray daily for the war to be over, and for all of our troops to come home. I pray for the up and coming election. Our country need to be run by a Godly man. This man needs to have integrity, honesty, moral values, and all the good qualities God would want in a leader.

I pray for special children with special needs. Their parents are also in the need of prayer.
