Job interviews might sound like the scariest ordeal a person has to face but it's actually just like any other conversation with another person that you could probably/possibly work with in the next fews days or weeks or months or so. However, it pays to take extra time in researching about the nature of the job you're applying for and figuring out whether the description fits your area of expertise. When you're being called in for an interview, it means you've already been singled out or is one of the selected few who have passed the preliminary screening. It means that the potential employer found that the credentials written in your resume or CV makes you a good candidate for the position. It means you're already a step closer to getting hired!
A job interview is (mostly) a deciding factor. It is a test whether the credentials reflected in your resume is true or not. It is a chance for the employer to take a closer look at you, to evaluate you based on your knowledge and experience, and to assess your personality. "Personality" matters! And I mean A LOT! You have to show confidence but not too much of that otherwise they might think you're cocky. Answer only what is being asked. If you don't know the answer, be honest and ask them back if they can suggest anything. Tell them you're willing to learn more. Show enthusiasm and tell them how this job could help you as a person and that you think this is a job that you will enjoy at doing (despite the stress and hassles that you might encounter). Display a pleasant attitude. Employers will take a hint at that giving them the idea that you will do good in your job because you will be enjoying it.
It might help to have a dummy interview with a peer just so you'll get a little practice. Seek also for advise from people in the workplace (if you know of anyone) or ask some pointers from friends who knows about the company.
Oh, and by the way, dress appropriately and I bet you know what I mean! Take these tips from me and your dream job will never be far from your reach!
