Gifts for your wife and the love of your life are the most wonderful ways to express how much the lady means to you, and to tell her how much you deeply love and care for her. Personally, I think there are two things that should be said about this subject at the outset. The first is that, whilst it may be nice to get her something lavish and expensive, cost is really not the most important aspect of giving for love, far from it. It is the thought and consideration that has been spent on the choice of gift that it the most essential aspect from the viewpoint of the receiver. The second aspect of gifts that I think is essential to also remember is that gifts are not just for special occasions, being simply reserved for birthdays, anniversaries and other special days. The true art of giving in my view is to give because you can and when you feel the desire to say "I love you" or "thank you." For example, it is not a special day, but as you are walking down the street you pass a florist with exotic flowers in the window. Don't walk on by. Stop and go in and just send them you your love with a little note saying something like "Just because I love you" or a message that is equally romantic.

Of course there are all the expensive gifts that you can give to your special lady, if you can afford it, like diamonds, a car, clothing and her favourite perfume. Don't misunderstand; they will all be well received and treasured. However, it is even better if a little extra thought goes into the presentation of the gift. For, example, when giving perfume, how much better will it look, and the surprise will be, if it is bedded in a box of roses or rose petals. If it is jewellery, then add to the surprise by perhaps taking your loved one out for a meal and arrange for the waiter to bring it out at some convenient time on a silver platter.

Then there are those extra special gifts. For example, you might be planning a special weekend away. The art is to make sure that you keep it a surprise for as long as possible. Additionally, you can make it that extra bit special by making arrangements with the hotel to have flowers for your love in the room when you arrive, with a romantic note for you. You can even go further than that if you wish. I remember an occasion when I took my lover to see a West End show. I was fortunate enough, through a lot of grovelling and pleading, to be able to get the management to publicly present a bouquet to my lady just before the start of the second half
