Preparing for a hurricane

Oh no! preparing for a hurricane again. On the Gulf Coast we do this every year, but if you keep most of your prepared items from year to year, you may just need to replace items. Check for new and improved items. Review your list to be sure you haven't left anything out. You need drinking water for a week for each family member, including your pets. You need food , that is easy to use, doesn't need refrigeration, for a week for each family member. You also need to be sure your flashlights work, your emergency radio works, and that you have the right size batteries for each. You need to remember to restock the first aid kit. You'll need to be sure that you have filled up the car and know what the evacuation plan is for your area. If you haven't bought the boards for covering your windows, now is the time. When the emergency warning sounds, it's too late. The key is plan ahead and keep track of the Hurricane hourly. If there is an evacuation leave early or when its your areas time to move.
