So we have all read those job posts make $5,000 a day or fill out surveys and make $2,000 a week. Does any of that really work. The simple answer is NO.
I have looked at pretty much every imaginable way to make money online. I have invested my money and wasted a good amount of time. From all the MLM or get rich quick schemes I ever tried online my total income was zero.
However, now I make pretty much all of my income from the couch in my living room. What changed for me was when I realized I had to stop following the money and start focusing on the skill sets I already had. I have a pretty varied background and have had several jobs with good companies where I developed administrative, marketing and other skills. So I decided to market myself and the knowledge I had. And low and behold here I am.
My income is sometimes up and sometimes down but I take on projects that interest me and I make enough to live on as much as I did when I had a traditional job. Some jobs I work at year round, others come and go and others are a one time thing but I am building a reputation and an arsenal of satisfied clients. I don't work traditional job hours anymore I have to work hard but I know every effort I put in is benefiting no one but me. It's a great feeling.
So if you have a skill set that you want to capitalize on start thinking of ways people could use you on a temporary or side basis. Scour free listing sites such as craigslist. There are odd jobs there for everybody from web design to gutter cleaning. If you can do it you can sell it to someone.
So remember when you decide you are ready to start telecommuting focus on your skill set and not the money, the money will come.
