In many ways the time after the the menopause is a great time of life for a woman. The children should have left the nest, you should have more free time and you should be more financially secure than ever. So much depends on you and your outlook. This applies to losing weight. Dieting is always a challenge no matter what your age. After the menopause the challenge is just a little more tricky. This is because, by this age we know what bad diets can do to us, and we need more than ever to look after our health. As this period of our life is usually less busy and demanding on our time we need to ensure that we keep active. If you become a couch potato you will find that your weight will steadily increase.
The menopause may make it more difficult for you to keep in shape and within a healthy weight range, but, with a little effort it should not be impossible. You may have to accept though that you will never be quite as slim and in shape as when you were young. Let's face it, older women who are often look dreadful. Learn to accept some of the issues that you cannot change and work on the ones that are still able to be changed.
