You may have heard a lot of good things about Yoga, especially if you're seeking weight loss advice from celebrities! Yoga is an effective form of exercise and in any scenario you find yourself, exercise can only help to take off the weight. The best way to lose weight is to change the habits that cause weight gain, such as stress, wrong food habits and lack of exercise. You could lose weight quickly by some "miracle drug" but this may lead to skin sags or temporary weight loss, that eventually sees all the weight regained. The most important factors in losing weight are to exercise regularly, eat healthier and maintain a good mindset. Yoga certainly can provide all three of these factors.
Some of Yoga's terminology as relates to inner and outer healing include Kunjal Kriya (which is stomach wash and lung cleansing), Basti (colon cleansing), Laghu Shankha Prakshalan (which is digestive system cleansing technique), Baghi (or a tiger exercise) and Yoga Asans (healthy postures). There are a variety of Yoga poses that can help a person exercise their hips, abdomen, thighs, arms, legs or chest. Breathing exercises, meditation techniques and naturopathic treatment can help a person to de-stress their mind, which can indirectl affect the shape of their body.
Yoga is a very healthy exercise, there is no doubt about this. But how effective is Yoga in producing results in weight loss? Provided you combine all aspects of Yoga, including dieting you may see some results, as many Yoga practicers have reported significant weight loss. However, some experts hesitate to state that Yoga in of itself can definitely lead to weight loss. Yoga does improve flexibility, improve coordination and reduces stress but Yoga exercises should be combined with more active (namely calorie burning exercises) if you are to see a significant drop in weight. There is no one secret technique to learn in the battle to lose weight. Rather, it involves a lifestyle change of improving your activity and longterm health.
