What wives want from husbands

Men seem to either think women want one of two things, a guy who is all muscle and brawn, or a guy who is all sensitive and romance. Actually, as a wife, I want both.

When I get home from work, my husband has usually cooked dinner, done dishes, folded laundry, and fed our son. He plays ball with our son, and falls asleep on the couch with the baby in his arms. In the mornings, right before the alarm goes off, he rolls over and puts his arms around me. He wipes away my tears, rubs my back, and takes care of me when I am sick. He arranges flowers, furniture, and decorations. He helped me plan our wedding. He goes with me to see woman movies. All of these things combined are the reason I can brag to my friends. This is the part of him that lets me know I can talk to him about anything, and the reason why he is my best friend as well as my husband.

My husband is athletic and manly too. He has played football, soccer, and hockey. He can report stats from his favorite players. He was a firefighter, and watches Rescue Me faithfully every Wednesday night. His facial hair grows so thick, he almost has a full beard by 5 o'clock, never mind a shadow. His arms are muscular, he is tall, and everything about him is man. Every time he holds me in his muscular arms, I know I am protected. Every time he holds me, I melt into his tender, yet confident, embrace. I love the way he moves, walks, smiles, and smells. This manly part of him, makes me feel like a woman. It makes me just want to stay in his arms forever, and to want to please him in any way possible. I still flirt with him, and adore everything about him.

Wives want husbands to be protective, strong, sensitive, and charming. We want you to make us laugh, cry for the right reasons, and wonder in astonishment how we ever got so lucky. We want you to be confident to the world, yet still ask us to do simple things for you. We want you to be the man other women are envious of, and always walk straight into our arms. We want to be proud to call you our husband. That's not asking too much, now is it?
