Poetry: Truck drivers

Careening through the lanes, like a bizarre police chase
Racing time while driving on the freeway-engines screaming

Exhaust releasing, tire spinning
face grinning, speedometer climbing higher
Foot on the pedal

Diesel truck changing lanes with no warning
I don't fret-look over my shoulder, turn on the blinker, Zoom by him

People are scared of the man made dinosaurs on eighteen wheels
But to me its just another obstacle on the road

Its early Monday morning-the fog horn blowing behemoths are every where
I can smell their foul exhaust in the air

But I drive by them all the same
They cut me off and switch lanes-I switch lanes
In and out like the hamburgers, except I'm weaving in and out of space

I figure theirs four lanes why not use them all
And check the rear view for the unwanted cop call

Its fun out maneuvering the giants of the highway, for reals
But if you listen to Jim Morrison you should be just fine

The highway is fun but also place where you can be killed
quote on quote "Keep your eyes on the road and your hands behind the wheel"
