Poetry: Soldiers

One Nation

Fate has dealt a crucial blow
The impact felt world wide
But nothing can replace the lives
Of loved ones who have died

Their memory haunts our every thought
Our lips still speak their names
Our hearts are filled with all the love
And joy that they once gave

Our candles burn through out the night

They cast an eerie glow
The glimmers seen for miles around
no matter where we go

But children seem to understand
At ages yet so young
That mom and dad are watching from
A place beyond the sun

They had to go to lead the way
so we could find our path
To do away with all the men
That tried to treat us bad

But don't you worry, don't you fret
They haven't died in vain
The sentence those men dealt to us
Will get them just the same

They'll only run a little while
Till they can run no more
but when they stop they'll surely find
There's something more in store

For we will fight with all we have
We'll fight till all is done
We'll fight till this old nasty war
has finally been won

For we've got heaven on our side
And angels at our gate
And when we get the chance to move
Believe me we won't wait

They don't know who they're dealing with
They don't know who we are
But time is running out for them
And they won't get too far

'Cause we're a nation big and strong
Our courage tried and true
Our colors wave in victory
The red, white and the blue.
