The history of economic development is filled with people who produce substandard products. That is why we have the F.D.A. and a host of private product testing companies to insure the safely of the consumer.
So too, the manufacturing base of China will continue to grow because its people work for the least amount of money, on average, than any other group of people on Earth. Way back when, that was also the reason why Japan became an economic powerhouse. I wonder how many of our own multinational corporations own factories within China?
They, more than any other factor, are the reason why China is growing so economically powerful. You see, if our people were willing to work for a dollar per hour, all of those factories would have been built in the United States.
Buyer beware or some such phrase has always been my motto, and I won't buy food that's grown outside of our Country. You see, D.D.T. is still an acceptable bug killer in most other places of the World, but that also causes cancer.
Then again, the only way that our people will be protected from buying or eating dangerous products is if each and every product that is imported to our Country is inspected and tested to insure that the product won't harm its consumer.
