I would like to remember Eddie Guerrero with a trip through Eddie's history. Eddie was born on Oct. 9, 1967. It has been said that he was able to perform a dropkick by the time he was 3. Eddie grew up in a wrestling family so he did most of his training out of a wrestling ring set up in his own backyard. Eddie after learning all he could moved into the indy world in 1987. He first wrestled under the name Mascara Magica. After wrestling in Mexico for a few years Eddie decided to try his hand in Japan under the name Black Tiger were he wrestled with two men that he would grow very fond of Dean Malenko and the late Chris Beniot. After spending some time in Japan Eddie decided to move back to Mexico. Shortly after returning to Mexico Eddie teamed up with a fellow wrestler named Art Barr. After a feud with a tag team in Mexico Eddie and his partner eventually lost their hair in a tag match in November 1994. It wasn't very long after that when Eddie decided to join a company that would revolutionize pro wrestling in the 90's...Extreme Championship Wrestling. While working for ECW Eddie won the ECW T.V. Championship on 2 occasions before leaving to work in World Championship Wrestling. Eddie would end up being in WCW for 4 years. During his time in WCW Eddie had a very entertaining feud with Rey Mysterio Jr. would would over the years develop a great friendship with. During his stay in WCW he was able to win the WCW Crusierweight Championship twice and the WCW United States tile. In January of 2000 Eddie made his World Wrestling Entertainment debut although in his first match with the company he injured his elbow. Later on in the year Eddie went on to win his first championship reign when he won the WWE European Championship. A championship we would win again before the end of 2001. Eddie would also go on to when the WWE Intercontinental Championship before stepping away from the ring in 2001 to deal with personal problems. When Eddie returned in 2002 he captured The IC title from Rob Van Dam. Shortly after losing that championship Eddie started to compete on Smackdown. Once Eddie settled into his new working environment he would go on to win the Smackdown Tag Team Championship three times before upsetting Brock Lesenar for the WWE Championship At WWE No Way Out on Feb 15,2004. After losing the WWE Championship Eddie teamed up with Rey Mysterio to win the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. But this title reign would be Eddie's last. on Oct 9, 2005 Eddie wrestled against Battista for the World Heavyweight Championship but came up short. Eddie shortly afterwords had a great match with Ken Kennedy on Smackdown. But it proved to be his last. Eddie's life was cut short due to heart failure a little less than a week later. I know in my heart that Eddie was one of a kind and that his ability to wrestle will never be matched. Eddie Guerrero will be truly missed.
