Learning only results whenever there is change in behavior. In a dynamic world populated by humans as well as other creatures, there are many interesting things to learn from each specie. Put oneself in a vacuum and segregate from all living forms, it is indeed hard to fathom what kind of learning can result.
Enrolling children in single-sex schools is no different from the vacuum example, except that there is that extra uniform gender to interact with. However, humans evolution cannot depend on single-sex. We need to understand the opposite gender in order to make the human race continuity a possibility. Where else can one imagine a better place to start than the school environment?
Children who have been through their educational experience in single-sex school rather than co-ed are not receiving a holistic learning experience in life. Likewise, it is not mentally healthy at all. As parents, I am strongly against having my children interacting only with their own gender. I would like them to be able to learn and deal with the opposite gender as early as possible in their life stages. This will not only perpare them mentally at an early age on how to deal with people from all walks of life but will also enable them to see the riches and diversities that Mother Earth has in store for them.
