No matter how plus sized you are, it is tough to find clothes that fit, let alone look good. It can seem impossible to find discount items that fit, look good, and don't break your budget. I have put together a list of options you might want to keep in mind when you are searching great, affordable plus size fashion.

1. Don't be affraid to go to a tailor!
Having clothes tailored aren't only for short people. Find an item that fits you in your biggest parts, then have it tailored to fit the rest. If you find an item on sale, the cost of tailoring will be well-worth it.

2. Know when to shop.
These days, most department stores have Women's sized in nice fashionalbe lines. At the ends of seasons, it is easy to find 50-75% off of the original cost. But you have to be on the lookout. Sometimes finding the best deals means that you have to put in more than a one hour mall trip. Looking your best takes some time. Remember, if something that you bought last season doesn't fit, you should consider having it taken out or in.

3. Know the fashion basics for plus sizes.
The rules are simple. If you wear a pattern, make sure the size of the pattern matches the size of the woman. Larger women shouldn't wear big bright colors. Smaller doesn't always mean better. Buying clothes that fit, is the most important thing, no matter how much they cost.

4. Don't worry about sizes.
If you've been a size 20, don't be afraid to need a size 22 or even 24. Different lines fit differently. Remember, most of the time, cheaper clothes run small. The most important thing is how the clothes fit, not the size.

5. Do shop at the Target's and Wal-Mart's of the world.
These types of stores are very good at accomodating plus sized fashion. Many times you can find greal deals on already marked down items.

6. Start with a few expensive pieces.
After you have the nice basics in your wardrobe, you can fill it in with more affordable items. This also lets you spend a little more each season.

7. Shop online.
Many stores have bigger sized only online. Don't be affraid to do a little shopping from home. Most of the time you can send them back if they don't fit and, once again, there is always tailoring.

If you keep these simple rules in mind, you can have affordable, fashionable clothes no matter what your size
