I've been trying to avoid being engaged and/or upset about the weather. I like to take a very long view of the patterns, 50-500 billion years works for me.
I cannot buy into the Bush hating, or even how Americans have messed up everything for everyone. The visiting athletes who will perform for the Olympics in China, are having burning sensations in their lungs from the pollution. China and India both need to assume responsibility in the global warming problems.

Apart from that, I have also been avoiding the hoopla from the religious sectors about the rapture, the end of days, etc. I recently converted to Catholicism and so far there hasn't been much about the weather as being God's wrath. I would hate to miss the boat on that one, if it comes to pass.

I am finally getting upset, and what really did it, was the earthquake and hurricane in Hawaii. Perhaps it's the fantasy of peace and tranquility that the marketers of Hawaii have promoted, but this go around, I am affected by the news. "Flossie" is the storm's name I think. I'm glad that nature is understood to be female, i.e. Mother Nature, and of course, when mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!
