How to get rid of grubs in the lawn

War On Fire Ant Terror
"So who's winning the War on Fire Ant Terrorism?" has probably been a question in your mind of late and I'm Proud to answer that WE ARE! The Dpi & Fisheries special forces fire ant unit and the Public is waging war successfully on the Super Al- Qaeda Fire ant terrorists. Also to be thanked is the Tireless and cheerful giving of the volunteers throughout Brisbane, which is very much appreciated by myself (Joshua Jensen Volunteer Fire ant ranger) and DPI & Fisheries Minister and team.

Now the last time I wrote my story in various local newspapers in Brisbane's northwest, it was to update you on where we're at with the war on Fire ants but mainly the real reason was to rally for recruits for the volunteer fire ant unit, who are responsible for fire ant Displays at small and major events across Brisbane and to also participate in surveillance activities across Brisbane. This time it's to update in a little more detail, what we have been doing at events across Brisbane as volunteers.

If you are young or older and you have a little spare time on your hands and are wondering how you can give back to the community and if you also possess a keen interest in ants Or environment then look no further and sign up Today! You won't regret it, I promise!
Also if you are passionate about fire ant eradication and have young legs, good eyes and are thorough with good attention to detail skills, you are just the person we're looking for.

It's completely FREE to sign up and to do training as it's voluntary and there's no experience required. All training is provided at the Fire Ant Control Centre at Oxley where Tea & coffee, biscuits are provided.
Plus after being there and participating in training, you will receive a certificate for your successful participation in becoming a volunteer ranger under the Government and receive a medallion after your participation in both activities mentioned earlier.
Now if you ask me, that's a pretty good incentive and valuable asset to have as part of your resume folder.

Now the Latest news to Hit Brisbane residents on the fire ant front is this they have found small clusters and/or single nests in the following suburbs which are: Amberley, Tarragindi (late last December), Peak crossing, Raceview, and North Maclean.

While there has been no fire ants found on the North side, the public must not fall into a trap of complacency saying "We've never had' em over here, so we must be safe" as it only takes one person to transport some
