We are all Americans regardless from where our anscetors orginate. America is the so called melting of enthnicities. That is the American experience.

If we live in a world where we want to united as one country then why do we fraction ourselves out? It doesn't make any sense. Do you hear a black person from England call themselves African-English? I don't. Maybe they do but I doubt it.

I am definitly not saying that you give up ethnic heritage but fraction yourself? I don't think many people would like it too much if I wanted people to call me German, English, Scottish- American. When you come to this country and become a citizen then you have children, everyone is American end of story.

Back when immigration was it highest people were proud to be just American. Why can't it be that way now?

We want to teach our children to look past color but how can they when they have to call someone a particular ethnic group. Just some food for thought... We are all Americans and some people would die just to be American not Mexican-American or Cuban American, just American.
