If only I knew then what I know now. In my teens a steady boyfriend was wonderfully secure and it was easy because we had not trust issues and it was brand new. Also, there exists a chemical that is caused by extreme like of one another that actually has pain killing effects. You feel wonderful at the very thought of this person. Except we have to grow up together. In growing we all have made major mistakes. It is a lesson unless we continue to do it. That is called a mistake. It has been in my observation that a lot of different dating definitions are now in the vogue. Friends with benefits, pretend boyfriends to achieve jealousy, and other areas of concern.
Some teens and adults equate sex and jealousy with love. Both male and female teens play games, have raging hormones, however, just like in our day still having unprotected sex. If your partner respects you there will be no pressure, honesty at the best of ones morals and general well being allowed and encouraged for the other person. In other words brutal honesty is not the type of honesty that helps communication. Learn to trust your partner by not listening to the talk about them. Listen intently to your partner unless you learn otherwise.
If boundaries are set like no drinking, no smoking, flirting, or causing harm in their prospective lives and the boundaries are honored it is a terrific start.
I am afraid at such a young age I do not think I knew really what love was. So , for now I think it has to do with "How to tell if my partner really respects me" then you can begin to bring love into the equation.
