Looking back through the ages, Witchcraft can be found in many places and times. From the times of the Egyptian Rulers, to the "Dark Ages", or the Time of the Renaissance, all the way to now. Witchcraft has played a very interesting role in history. Most people who practice the Craft, will probably tell you that they don't know what they'd do without it. I say the same thing.
Witchcraft, but more so with Wicca, has been a big part of my life for the last 5 years. I have joined in Ceremonial Wicca, Coven Related Ceremonies, and Wicca abroad, ever since I came to learn about the Wondrous Craft. I sometimes even notice my self performing Wicca, or Witchcraft, without even meaning to! Can you believe that it is possible to be Bourne a Witch, or Wiccan..? I can, because I believe i was Bourne a Wiccan.
I say this, only because I think it is possible for one to be "Bourne into the Craft", but only if your ancestors partook in the Craft as well. For at least 2 generations. Well, i have 4 behind me. My great great Grandmother Nona Lee Crocket was a Medium, as was her daughter, Lela Lee Crocket, my Great grandmother. Her daughter, my grandmother, Nona Lee Crocket Williamson, is still a practitioner of the Craft to this Day, and the Best Medium I have ever know. Her daughter, my mother, Louann Goss, is not so much gifted in the eria of Mediums, but more so, unfortunately, in the Dark Arts. Not wanting to follow her lead, I decided to pay more attention to the Teachings of my Grandmother, instead of my mother.
But more to the point, looking back on Witchcraft, i am very happy, and feel very lucky, that it is legal to practice now in my generation. It was a subject, until very recently, that was not to be understood, it was to be feared. As well as it was to be punishable, usually by death. But thanks to the Evolution of the Mind of Modern man, this no longer occurs. But, with all this, one must step back for a Minuit, and think about it... Are we doomed to make the same mistakes as our Puritan ancestors?
Will witchcraft or Wicca be punishable by death once more..? I think not. No.. I think man has finally evolved enough, to a certain extent, that we White Witches, or Wiccans will never again face persecution for our Practices, or Beliefs. Witchcraft is here to stay, and White Witches, and Wiccans alike are growing in Numbers.. By the day even. Which is a good thing for us, because their is strength in numbers.
But, in conclusion, looking back throughout history, and reflecting on Witchcraft, I am personally glad it's here. I would do anything in my power, which is quite alot, to make absolutely sure that Witches and Wiccans are for ever more, safe from persecution of their beliefs. Because we are people too, just like every other person on this planet. We think, we feel, we see. But just because we Practice Wicca, or Witchcraft, does not make us evil. Even though the Stereotypical image that Some self centered and Arrogant Religious people "Christians", displays us so to be.
But that does not matter, as long as we stick together, as our ancestors of the Craft have done for so long, we can never be taken down. And with that, I end my article, but remember "An ye harm none, so shall it be". Follow that, know it, see it, hear it, teach it, and You, will be able to reflect upon a Happy Life, and live it just the same.
Thank You,
And Blessed Be
