A Lonely Crowded Place
a dead mother
a broken childhood
a drinking father
a touchy uncle
an empty bank account
another torn heart
a desperate need for help
no, these tears aren't for myself
they're for the moments when everything stops
and you open your eyes to what goes on
people dropping dead
malnutritioned children starved
teenagers with scars on their arms
tears pouring down like acid rain
a bitter taste of the world's disdain
no one helped, never came
