Would you travel across the country just to take a nap? The guests at the Ritz Carlton, Naples, Fl are doing just that.
As a massage therapist, I am always looking for new ways to treat my clients. Yesterday, I was reading our local "hoity toity" magazine. It's basically a who's who among the rich in our town and their galas plus one or two interesting articles. I was pleasantly surprised by this month's article featuring the Ritz Carlton. I've been there several times as a guest and can't wait to go back and experience the latest addition to the spa menu.
The extreme opulence of the Ritz Carlton, Naples, Florida is breathtaking. When you walk into their spa all senses are alive with the vibration of water. The word Spa means healing through water and the ambiance created does just that. You can smell the water in the air; hear the water fall into the circular pool that sits below the stairs. You can feel the crispness in the air and even taste its magic lingering around you. Having your senses enveloped by water's healing powers, before you've even signed in is a relaxing and tranquil start in your journey.
It does not surprise me that their lead therapists have developed an amazing experience in massage. They call it "Drift to Sleep". They promote it as an experience that takes you through 3 rooms; a journey into deep relaxation that ends with a nap. Wait, a nap? Now that's what I call total relaxation.
Our hectic, over active, over stimulated way of life is depleting the necessity we need most. This necessity of sleep is becoming a luxury and paying to sleep is no surprise. Drift to Sleep was created to give the client the ultimate in massage. It starts with a milk bath. While you are soaking in a cleansing bath of aromatherapy scents and bubbles you are encouraged to sip calming tea. After your soak you are gently guided into another room where your massage takes place. Combinations of modalities such as Reiki & Cranial Sacral help pull you ever so deeply further into your trance like relaxation towards your alpha state of sleep. And then it's nap time for the last 30 minutes of this 120 minute indulgence.
Since there is nothing out there quite like Deep Sleep Therapy, I highly recommend the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida as a hot destination. Naples is beautifully landscaped and full of small town charm. If you visit in off season (May-November) you'll enjoy it's quite and laid back atmosphere while watching sunsets at the beach and sipping an umbrella decorated tropical drink. During season, prepare to be dazzled as the town is lively and events flourish with the return of our "snow birds".
