I attempted a piece of blank verse, it's a lot harder than it looks! Also, it quickly became apparent to me why Shakespeare and writers of that ilk used made up words'. My iambic pentameter is imperfect in places, but I hope you will forgive me since it is my first attempt.
From nothing heaven was creade
By God, and also earth but earth was dark,
For in the beginning ere all things were
His spirit stirred above the vacant sea
Surveying dreary darkness that was on
The deep. And God, displeased with shade
And gloom, said "shine forth light".
And a beacon was lit in the heavens,
And golden light did swathe the earth, brilliant
But invisible, making things visble.
When God saw light that He had made, He saw't
Was good; and so that all could marvel at
His radiant creature, He divided it
From dark in equal share, and earth's light He
Called day and darkness night time o'er the earth.
And He saw morning of the first day's birth.
And God then separated the waters
And lifting them, breathed on the lifted pools
And sent them wisps across the heav'n.
He moved the maining seas on earth to place
All together, and said: "dry land, appear".
And according to God's command, mountains
And valleys, and great gushing rivers came
And jungles and deserts and vast plains; all
Surrounded the oceans, and God called them
Earth. Firmament was called Heaven, that is
O'er Earth, seeing what was done, it was good.
Evening, morning, the second day past God.
