There are many reasons presented in the day to day world for forgiving but, for me - I am the reason to offer forgiveness and to forgive. If we forgive ourselves, we can forgive others. I know myself well enough to say, if I cannot forgive myself for doing, saying or thinking something stupid - I will not be able to forgive anyone else.

This will be detrimental to me - just me. If I carry with me - hatred, bitterness, jealousy, resentment or, any number of other negative emotions - who is going to pay? The people I resent, hate or, are bitter towards? No! They probably won't even realize I have these feelings towards them. Perhaps, they will know - and not care at all. The only person that these emotions will eat away at though, is me.

I will be the one who is tormented at night, unable to sleep because - my stomach is in knots. I will be the one, avoiding social gatherings so - I don't have to deal with so and so. I will be the one, tormented and slowly removing myself from life because, of my emotions and feelings towards some people. I will be the one, crying, screaming and befuddled.

These are my emotions, my feelings and my thoughts. This is me. I am the reason for the pain so - I must be the reason to forgive. I - am the only reason for, forgiveness.
