New Dads and great gift ideas start with knowing his hobbies and interests. There are many baby color themes, ideas, and humorous gifts that relate to Dads hobbies or interest. Great gifts remind new Dads how important they are in bonding with baby.

Here are 5 great gift ideas for new Dads:

1) Congratulate the new Dad immediately by sending an online e-card, gift card, a digital photo of baby and Dad, or a website to enter baby photo contest. There are many websites that allow you to send e-cards and enter baby photo contest for free.

2) A tape recorder with a prerecorded tape of your voice singing a popular baby lullaby or a personalized message telling Dad he can now begin singing lessons. Dad and baby will soon be recording many of their own songs.

3) A framed photo of baby and Dad to display at his office or home desk. You can choose to engrave or print the date, arrival time, and baby's weight on the frame.

4) Frame a poem, song, or story and place a personalized note from you on the back of the frame.

5) Shop and purchase personalized baby gifts online or at your favorite stores, such as, new Dad T-shirts, mugs, chocolate cigars, key rings, coaster cds, books, survival kits, burp cloths, diaper apron caddy, photo albums, cuff links, wallets, and many more great gift ideas.

For more original gift ideas, buy a medium or large size baby gift wrap box and place tissue paper in the box. Fill the box with handmade gifts, such as, a storybook made with a small diary book and a handwritten baby story, paint a wood sign, adorn a photo frame, or decorate a new Daddy T-shirt with his hobbies on it.

Create a scrapbook using Dads hobbies and baby theme background pages. Print or type on background paper questions for the new Dad to answer. Two example questions: What activity did Dad withdraw from when he heard the announcement of his baby being born? What thoughts occurred when Dad first saw or held his baby? Insert a newspaper clipping in the scrapbook, showing the date, with Dads favorite hobbies or interests. This gives him the ability to reflect back as to what was going on in the world the day he became a new Dad. Include in the scrapbook an award certificate with the words new Dad.

In place of the baby gift-wrap box purchase a baby bath tub and line it with a baby bath towel. Fill the tub with baby shampoos, bath soaps, lotions, powder, hairbrush, comb, toothbrush, diapers, water toys, and other accessories. Don't forget to include a fishing pole or other water toy for Dad. He may need a break after bathing baby.

The greatest gift ideas come from the heart. Whatever great gift ideas you choose, create a memorable one for new Dads.
