Will warnings about the safety of Chinese foods, toothpaste, toys and tires reduce China's dominance in global manufacturing and trade?
I seriously doubt that safety warnings on Chinese products will decrease their dominance over the global manufacturing and trade market. Some warning labels have already done some damage to China's manufacturing and trade, however aside from a few layoffs and loss of relatively minuscule funds China is still pretty well off.
China produces so much manufactured goods and trades with so many countries that warning labels may damage their economy to a degree but it will not shrink the umbrella China has over the manufacturing and trade market. They're exports are diverse and numbering in the billions monthly, and there isn't another country out there that comes close enough to take away China's dominance even if these warning labels shrink it.
The labels may cause China to produce less toothpaste, but then they'll just produce more toys so all in all China's dominance is here to stay for the time being.
