How to get rich on eBay

When you come to think of an online business it can be pretty intimidating at the beginning. There are literally millions doing it so many may think well why should I do it? The net is saturated with people doing the same thing so why should they pick you? Well to be honest I think thing an online business is fairly simple if you have the right knowledge, and a positive attitude.

About eBay. If you reached this page you are probably interested is starting an eBay business so you I'm pretty sure there is no need to go over the reasons you should or shouldn't start selling on eBay. I will just assume you want to start doing it right away.

Unlike E commerce sites where you have to find a way to drive customers to your site, eBay already offers a high volume traffic you only need to be concern with a few things.

1. What to sell?
2. Where to find it?
3. How to make the sale?
4. How to take it to the next level?

On this article I'm going to cover step 1

1. What To Sell?
This is obviously the first and most essential aspect of any business. Deciding what to sell. I like to classify eBay sellers in three different groups. The seller who manufactures or create their own products, such as paintings and crafts. The seller that sells information products, or ebooks and finally the sellers who import, export, manage or distribute different kind of products.

I'm going to focus on that last group. If you have no idea of what you want to sell then you need to research the market. I suggest you start on your hobby. Use you hobby as a niche market and research that current market for that king of product. For instance if you are into martial arts you can simply research keywords such as training gear, sparring, fighting and such. Click on the completed search option in order to retrieve listings that have ended. From there research you can get tons of information like which product line have been successfully sold, price ranges, listing duration and maybe more importantly who are the top sellers of each products, meaning your will be competitors.
From your research determine which are the top 5 selling products of this niche.

Ok Now you need a good supplier. There a few ways to find suppliers online and off. First of all do not rely on search engines instead check who is the product manufacturers (that information is usually either on the products or the packages. Go to your local retail store and from the boxes you can find who the manufacturer is. Then contact the manufacturer and ask to speak with the sales department. After that you can ask for the authorized wholesale distributor or authorized dealer. After that you have to contact the dealer or the distributor and establish the kind of relationship you will have with them.
Another way to find manufacturers is by going to online trading sites like Alibaba and Global Trade and search for the product. There you can directly contact manufacturers willing to work with ebay sellers and online entrepreneurs. It is very important to browse different manufacturers and check their catalog to see if there are related products that are not being sold on eBay. If you happen to find 2 or 3 of these products you will have an exclusive niche and every buyer searching for that kind of product will land on your listing with no option but you.

My initial niche was printing supplies and I relied 100% on suppliers that I found on Alibaba, and I found 3 product that, at the time were not offered on eBay. I made a killing profit.
