Illegal Immigration is the Frankenstein created by America itself.
Now that the problem is getting out of hand, we want to implement the law by punishing/expelling the illegal immigrants. But whose fault is it anyway? Are they the only ones to blame? What about us? Haven't we exploited them?
When they have been coming for years and not baulked, rather encouraged so that we could use their labor at a cheaper rate with an implied assurance from proven track records that these undocumented aliens do not call out sick unless they have to; would it be moral to expel them citing that they broke the law? Were not they allured into this situation, as the laws were not implemented?
Why would we now say that they broke the law? Why the laws were not implemented for so many years? If the undocumented alien issue is not solved, only measures that seem to take effect is either gradual or mass deportation. Expelling them will be like taking their lives, as lung cancer takes a smoker's. Should gradual and mass deportation of undocumented aliens happen, it would remain as a stigma in our Nation's history?
Just a simple analogy: Tobacco Companies paid some addicted victims hefty fines. If that is okay, then the undocumented aliens should be paid, that is, get a chance to legally work in the United States.
