Spa techniques for getting rid of cellulite

Cellulite: A condition where the skin appears lumpy and dimpled. It is something that effects the majority of women today, as well as a number of men. Hiding their "cottage cheese" thighs under a layer of clothing, women enter spas in search of a cure. Unfortunately, there is no "quick fix" or "miracle cream" for this common condition. However, there are a number of methods to help reduce the appearance and smooth out the skin.

Since the actual cause of cellulite has still not been pinpointed by medical professionals, it is hard to find the antidote. What they do know for sure is that it is affected by hormones, it is genetic, and can result from an inactive lifestyle and poor diet. So for a successful cellulite treatment, you must approach it from several angles. To start, a spa therapist will recommend a more healthful lifestyle. Controlling stress and anxiety can help balance out hormones. Consistent exercise and healthy diet is an extremely important part of treatment.
Once a lifestyle change has become consistent, a client can begin spa treatments. One of the most common spa treatments is the body wrap. Seaweed based ingredients are the most effective for cellulite. The seaweed concoction is spread all over the body and is wrapped tightly in a special blanket that traps heat emitted from the body. Then another blanket (this one should be heated) is wrapped around the body forming a cocoon. This process leads to intense detoxification and will stimulate circulation, which is what helps reduce the cellulite appearance.
An increasingly popular method is Endermology. This is a technique performed with a machine, which involves rolling and sucking of the skin. This also eliminates toxins and will help restore smoothness to the skin.
These spa techniques should be performed several times within a certain period of time to be most effective. The client can then also use at home exfoliants and creams to help as well.
Everyone's body is different and the rate of disappearance of the cellulite will vary person to person. End results should be successful if the client is determined and serious about sticking to the regimen provided by the spa therapist.
