Testimonies: What my dog means to me

My dog Titan was a playful 8-week-old Blue Heeler pup when we got him.We were a bit hesitant about having a big dog at first. Although, he means the world to me now.

He dug holes in the garden; ate the cushions from our cane lounge chairs, in fact he was a virtual destruction machine.
I took him to obedience training, where we learned so many things together. This is the best thing anyone can do for his or her dog. I learned how to teach him the basics sit, drop, come, wait, and stay. From there he learned to do many other wonderful things.

He has survived two poisonings. In addition to this, he had an operation on his neck to take out a large lump, close to his jugular vein. We cried at the thought of losing him, and were so relieved and happy he survived. Titan is an asset to us, he protects our home, and he is much more than a pet, he is a big part of our family. I would not swap him for any amount of money he is priceless and we love him.

Titan and I, run around chasing and throwing the ball and instead of jumping in the car to go to the corner store we walk. Therefore, we keep each other fit. Everyone should have a dog, they make your life worth living.

He is so clever, I tell him "go get Dad for lunch", and he races out to the shed and barks. On the other hand, if Dad needs me for anything he tells him "go get Mum." If we are both outside and do not hear the phone, he lets us know. He is more human than dog; I have never known a dog so sensitive to our needs.

Because Blue Heelers are working dogs, we give him little chores. He brings us our shoes, brings in the weekend paper from the lawn, he also jumps up and pulls the junk mail out of the mailbox and carries it in to us. When we go shopping, he waits until we open the boot and he grabs his dog biscuits and carries them into the kitchen. Bear in mind, he is rewarded for these little tricks.

Titan is a wonderful dog, who has his own bed beside ours; we say goodnight Titan and he answers with a grr we reply with grr. He will keep it up until I say "do you want to go outside" then he is silent. Then about 4am, he sneaks up onto our bed.
Yes, I said it before; our dog is so wonderful and means the world to us. He has brought us so much fun, humor and everyone loves him as much as we do.
