OH BABY! It's August, and the 2007 NFL Season is right around the corner! Let's face it guys, in the amazing world of Fantasy Sports, nothing compares to the competition involved in NFL Fantasy Football Leagues. With 75% of football fans participating in some sort of Fantasy Football League every year, in the next few weeks MILLIONS of Americans will be gathered in living rooms across the country with 6-12 of their best buddies, drinking and drafting. The problem for most of these fanatics is that they don't know how to organize a team. They don't understand that before you head into the draft, you need to rank your top 10-20 players at each position to insure that you will be able to adequately assemble the Fantasy Football world's equivalent to the 1972 Miami Dolphins, and unbeatable dynasty that is sure to rake in that buy-in money at the end of the year. Throughout the next week or so, I will be writing a special column ranking the top 10 players at the following positions; Quarterbacks (today), Running Backs (Saturday), Wide Receivers (Sunday), Tight Ends (Monday), before finishing up with Kickers and Defense in a 2 for 1 (Tuesday). As an added bonus, I will place 3 sleeper picks! These players make solid backups or reserves early in the season, but may pay off huge come November, when the games really start to count.
Today may be the most important lesson, so pay close attention. The Quarterback is the anchor of a winning team. When you think dynasties and multiple Super Bowl winners, you always have a Hall of Fame Quarterback behind center. Starr, Bradshaw, Montana, Aikman. 4 quarterbacks, 13 Super Bowl Championships! These 4 quarterbacks have accounted for over 30% of starting quarterback rings in existence! Without a hell of a quarterback, you don't have a chance in hell of winning your league. I have done very extensive research throughout the offseason, and will now release my first round of position based rankings. Send me an email when you win that prize pool money! I'll be thirsty!
