Book previews: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, by J.K. Rowling

Good, but not what I was expecting.

I enjoyed the book. I picked it up the on the first day it came out and spent the next two days reading it. The first 500 pages consist of Harry hiding from Voltemort, so you don't get a lot of action. You get a lot of story and fill in gaps that are suppose to help you understand what's happening and what needs to happen for the Voltemort to be destroyed.

After the first 500 pages, the book really picks up and action occurs, but for the most part, Harry isn't involved in most of it. He's running around trying to do this and that while everyone else is fighting. It starts getting annoying how long Harry waits till he actually fights, but when he finally does, it's good.

At the end of the book, we get some insight into how life is 15 years after Voltemort is destroyed. Something has happened in these 15 years, Ron has gained a since of humor. I enjoyed it but I know others who didn't like it at all, so it's really depends on the person.

The book is good, but I was expecting a lot of action. The idea of him not going to school this year made me think of Harry pretty much like a roll playing game. He runs into deatheater after deatheater or some other creatures and has to fight them off. The book wasn't anything like that, not bad, just different.

The book has some disappointing moments: at one point the author brought in a character into the story just to kill him off and like mentioned before Harry not fighting while everyone else is, but for the most part it's good
