Forever Kiss
Little did you know that cool Thanksgiving Day,
your kiss would last forever and always.
A simple greeting to your mom
your "I love you" goes on and on.
The sweet breath from your lips upon my cheek,
lingers through the years, the months, the weeks.
Such a story I never dreamed it would tell.
In my greatest sorrow it would say, "All is well."
It would tell me in an instant of the Saviour I forgot.
And through His love and grace that He had not.
It would tell me to quit asking "Why?"
It would say, "It's just my time to die."
It would say, "But in my early death, I live."
And Mother you still have much to give.
And for those days your son you miss,
I'm placing on your cheek a forever kiss.

my first breath was liquid,
a gasping, choking thing, and then I

Don't believe the things you hear about that final breath.
