the former Six Flags Astroworld in Houston, TX. When Astroworld closed down, this was one of the rides that was moved to another park. Needless to say, I love this ride! It is a straight free fall from 20 stories high, and while you are waiting for your drop, you get a great view of the park including the two wooden coasters in the back, the Screaming Eagle and The Boss. I plunged down this 2 second ride and went onto my next, the oldie but the goody.
The oldie but goody that I am talking about is the Screaming Eagle. This coaster was at one time a Guinness Book of World Record holder for three awards. This white and red coaster has gone through a few changes over the years, but despite these changes, it seems to be still going strong at Six Flags St. Louis. It has been around since 1976 and was constructed by John Allen a top roller coaster designer.
You may think that I would be getting tired of riding roller coasters, but not for me. After the Screaming Eagle, I moved on over to the Ninja. The Ninja is a coaster that will have you experiencing the thrills of being a ninja by hurling you through loops, corkscrews and steep hills. This coaster is a little uncomfortable, but it is worth the ride. If you want a quick thrill ride, the line for the Ninja will probably be short because it has been around for so long.
Right next door to the Ninja is Batman: The Ride. I think that almost every Six Flags Theme Park has a Batman ride. I can remember at Six Flags Astroworld they had Batman: The Escape, which was a stand-up roller coaster. Of the Batman coaster that I have ridden, I think that I liked this one the best. I do not know if it was relocated, but it was fun! Also what I found interesting about the one at Astroworld is that it was labeled "The Escape". It seems like everywhere else they are labeled "The Ride" and I never understood this because the theme in every Batman ride is that you are escaping from the evil forces of Gothem City. As for Batman: The Ride in St. Louis, I was very pleased with this coaster. It was an inverted roller coaster where you feet are dangling out of the bottom of the coaster instead of sitting in a car. Also the scenery for Batman coasters are usually pretty great!
Well from here, I have ridden all of the coasters except for The Boss, which is in the back of the park. After Batman: The Ride, I wanted my wife to be able to have something to do at Six Flags. She is not a roller coaster enthusiast like I am, but we did find a couple
