Using a blog or a site like "Myspace" to promote a business, or even yourself (if "you" are your business), is taking advantage of one of the most cutting edge marketing tools in the world today. Let's face it, nearly everyone has Internet access at home, and if not at home, certainly at work or in another public space like school, the library, etc., and there is a growing number of people who forgo the "phone book" in lieu of looking up services and products online.

I am a published author, and I have used this marketing tool since my novel was published nearly two years ago. I have a Myspace page, on which I have a very large number of "friends". I sent a message to each of my "friends" with an HTML link to a banner that I created for my book, which more than half happily posted on their pages...that exponentially increased the number of people who visited my personal book website within a matter of weeks. I also posted a few well placed blogs on other sites that did wonders for my exposure as well.

Basically, by taking advantage of this new and innovative approach to advertising, you are stepping into the future. Honestly, it doesn't make sense NOT to get yourself out there on the Internet, as this is just another tool that will undoubtedly increase your exposure. Does this mean that you should NOT advertise in other areas? No...take advantage of everything that you can!
