First you will need to take a few measurements and decide how far up the wall you are going to tile and how far out.
Then you need to decide what kind of tile you would like and if you are going to install a bull nose or have a few accent tile or all the same what the size is because then you can figure out how many you will need.
your next decision will be the grout that goes in between the tiles and what color you want.
Then comes the fun stuff! you will need to remove the old stuff that surrounds your bath now. You will need to put up Wonder board (Cement Board) so the tile has something to adhere to then you can install your tile with mortar and the spacers for the gap between the tiles if you get yourself a roll of painters tape you can use the tape to help hold the tiles to the wall until the mortar dries( at least 24 hours).
Then you can put the grout in be sure to have a pail of water and a sponge for cleaning off the tile so the grout does not dry on the tiles. you should let the grout dry for at least another 24 hours. After this is complete then get yourself another clean pail of water and clean the tiles again. after you have finished with all this you should caulk at the bottom where the tile meets the tub that way there is no chance of water getting behind the tile into the walls and anywhere else you think water might get to. After that sit back and admire the job.
