The Bible says "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it". This admonition is very important as regards to training up your babies as well as laying solid foundations for them especially in the area of behavioural attitudes.
It will be interesting to know that training of babies should start right from the cradle; I mean right from when they start sucking their mother's breast so that whatever good attitude they learn will remain with them even as they grow to become big boys and girls.
At tender age, they seem carefree and will want to play with anything thy see no matter how dirty and dangerous but alas, know this and have it at the back of your mind that a child knows when he has done wrong. You will agree with me that most times, whenever babies suck their mother's nipples they usually bite it in the process that the mother will feel sudden and severe pain; the best way to tell the baby that what he has done is wrong since he cannot talk (but they understand things by your reactions) is to gently beat the baby or shout at him a bit to stop him from doing it the next time and you will note that before that child does something similar another time, just watch carefully, first, he will look into your face to see your reactions and if you act the way you did last time, he will keep calm and gently take his breast feed but if you react gently by smiling to him to stop it, of course you will see the brightness on his face smiling back at you and before you could count one to three, you will feel a severe pain on your nipple.
Also, when the child is crawling, he will want to touch any thing you the parents touch thereby try to imitate you because this is the period they learn faster than you can imagine. They even try to switch on the Television or the hot pressing iron as little as they are because to them everything is good for play. Even as he craws to accomplish his mission, he will first of all look at your face whether you are happy with his intentions or not but if your reactions is a bit mean for him, I bet you, he will withdraw immediately. However, if you are soft, well, he might be heading for something very dangerous like hot boiling water
This practical upbringing does not imply that we should not love our children for it is the joy of every woman to see their babies happy and healthy but it is just that we have to be very careful in the way we deal with them in order to raise a very good, respectful and cultured children who will fear and respect our opinions.
Lastly, remember, as you lay your bed so you lie on.
