Several years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Arthritis of the muscle I was told. Pain in the neck, shoulder, arms would go to sleep and so on. I hurt somewhere everyday. I had gotten where my legs didn't want to hold me up when I got out of bed in the morning. I couldn't climb a chair to change a light bulb.
Years of abuse on my muscles caught up with me. Since I didn't want to take medicine all the time, I checked out my other options. I decided to go to a massage therapist or shall I call her the torture chamber. Most people think of massages as pleasure but this was not the case. My massage therapist was also a physical therapist. She first told me I needed to lose some weight since I had gained about 20 pounds after I bought a little cafe. She taught me stretches that would help my muscles. I was also showed how to use two tennis balls put in a sock to roll on my back. Butt balls for the muscles in my butt. This may sound crazy but it worked.
I spent a year in massage therapy, I lost weight, and I feel much better. I have to be reminded to do my stretches and balls because I get slack sometimes. The massages, the stretches, and the balls don't get rid of the Fibromyalgia, it just helps me to live with it better without medication. I still go occasionally to the torture chamber but it is worth it.
