I grew up in the country, there was nothing but acres of fields and trees with a few of our neighbors scattered throughout. Now I live in the city, it's not a huge city like Atlanta or Chicago, but it is the biggest city in our state. I don't mind the city, but I do long for the countryside from time to time.
The country is peaceful, less expensive and less crime prone. I also believe that the country forces you to use your creativity because you don't have the big city entertainment. It's more family oriented and less hectic.
I personally believe that the country is a better place to raise kids because they won't be exposed to crime, violence, sex and drugs as quickly as they would if they lived in the city. Some parents think that "sheltering" their kids from "reality" will confuse and shock them; however, I don't see anything wrong with protecting the innocence of our children.
