I believe so. But maybe "yes" is not really an accurate answer, after all. The question says: "IS the US becoming a fascist state?" Isn't it ALREADY a fascist state? One would not be wrong if he or she even called it a gestapo.

If an Administration like the one we have been suffering under continues past 2008 (heaven forbid the thought) we will truly evolve from a fascist state to a full blown gestapo. Does secret wiretapping, loss of privacy, illegal search and seizures without a warrant or probable cause, the "Patriot" Act, "water-boarding", "profiling" and "name" witch hunts, citizen interrogation, police tasering of unarmed citizens, gross violations of individual Constitutional rights of freedom of speech and press, and breach of other civil liberties sound familiar? What else does one need to define a gestapo, let alone, a fascist state?

Since I've written an article somewhat similar to this subject already published on helium in a comparable category, I do not want to rehash similar points here, again. I refer the reader to the channel of: "Politics, News & Issues", sub channel: "Political and Economic Theory"; title (category): "Comparing Capitalism and Socialism"; then my article: "The Fascist Capitalism Siege of America". It's under 1400 words. It has four main theme paragraphs that tell how America (its regime) has evolved to fascism in the last seven years in the domestic/economic arena, in its foreign relations agenda, what must be done to reverse it, and the consequences of taking positive action to reverse it vs. leaving it to the rotten status quo. I have even sent copy of it to the Council on Foreign Relations. Read it, and you'll need no further convincing. (And I haven't even seen the film: "From Freedom to Fascism" yet)!
