Gordon Brown as Machiavelli! No, Gordon Brown is Super Machiavelli!
Machiavelli would get my vote any day if the only other choice were Gordon Brown. I didnt get a choice. This Machiavellian apprentice has taken the countries top job by sneaking through the back door. Thats the only way he could get there because the wit, charm and courage it takes to fight a democratic election he just does not have.
What possible right has this monster to assume our leadership? For ten years he has cowered behind the scenes letting others take the blame but he has been responsible for swingeing taxes spent on illegal war and outsize tents on the Thames. He has shown no compassion for pensioners robbed of their pensions by his grasping taxes. He has presided over an economy where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, where the wealth divide has never been greater, where the family home has to be sold to pay his inheritance tax. He has created an economy where our young people cannot afford to buy a house, where our resources are stretched beyond capacity by uncontrolled immigration, where cheap migrant labour is forcing down pay and standards.
And what will new Brown rule be like? There is only one sure answer, more taxes . This is what he does best, he raised taxes higher than any other chancellor ever dared and now he's the boss. His simple solution for all problems of whatever complexity is "tax it". Road congestion? Just tax it till people can't afford to use their cars. Air travel pollution? Just tax it till people can't afford to fly. Never mind that this affects the poorest in society. Never mind that it curtails freedoms. This is the only solution this monster is capable of dreaming up.
For ten years we have seen these "Cruel actions" justified because "The ends justify the means" but there the similarity with Machiavelli ends. Machiavelli also said "Individual power for its own sake is not an acceptable end". The Brown success in obtaining and maintaining power go beyond the Machiavellian. The apprentice is now fully indentured and super Machiavellian.
