I purchase movies for the purpose of being able to watch it again and again because of clever scripts, entertaining action, humor, overall appeal and even the darkness of its contents and (I might add) some um, just some sexual content but that's a different story. Here, I quickly compile a list of movies that I've seen at least more than twenty times and will see them over and over again.
"Taxi driver" holds a charm of mundane, lonely urban lifestyle that spirals into madness of great proportions. Robert DeNiro's performance peaks of both absurdity and dramatizes realism in the sense of common psychological downfall. This is a movie that blew me away the first time I've seen it. From time to time, One can feel the same suffocating of the main character, I know I do....sometimes.
Another film that I will never get sick of seeing is "Scarface". A classic in its status about the intense drive of ambition and violence to climb to power outside the law and decline due to greed. Al Pacino delivers an empathetic character of both ruthlessness and some humor that also eventually sinks into madness as his empire falls apart. Lots of timeless quotes in this one.
In the comedic genre of films in my collection, one of the top movies that never fails to make me laugh would have to be "The Big Lebowski". The Coen brothers film that gives Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi and John Torturro their best comedic acting skills. The film is about a fake kidnapping of a trophy wife ex-porn star that drew an unemployed pothead into the whole scam due to mistaken identity and somebody peeing on his rug (that really tied the room together). It spirals into hilarious circumstances just because of somewhat absurdities and common but rich characters. Another film that I can always quote again and again.
"Back to the future" also hits my lists as a movie that I can watch multiple times. To me, the characters of Christopher Lloyd as Dr. Emmett Brown and Crispin Glover as George McFly spotlights the personalities with its comedic values. I've always been a fan of Christopher Lloyd since his character of Jim Ignatowski in the television show,"Taxi".
I can't forget to add "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas" armed with Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro's acting caliber pushed to the limits. A hilarious trek of debauchery of Rolling Stone magazine's former editor in chief Hunter S. Thompson with his lawyer known as "Dr. Gonzo" assigned to write about a motorcycle endurance race and ends up in
