Every moment that I am alive changes my view of the world. It is the basis of me. The moments that have the largest impact are similar for everyone. Birth is a good start, it is the moment that starts the ball rolling.

I think about the first time I realized that I was not-so-indestructible. I took a header off of a bicycle and landed in a garbage can. Yup! There's a very good one. It certainly wasn't my first spill, but it was one of the most memorable.

The birth of my first son, my second son, my third son, my daughter, and finally the youngest boy. There is a series of life changing events. Then some fanatics smack into a couple of buildings and scare the hell out of the world. I guess that fits into the category.

Another very discerning moment, every time I go to the grocery store and see that a gallon of milk is $5.00 American. Incidentally, I should just drink gasoline, it's significantly cheaper. I do not recommend it, to anyone, however.

The most significant perspective altering moment in my life would be the death of my grandfather. That is the finality. It brings the whole thing, this whole brilliant gift right back to square one. When we go horizontal and room temperature; it is not what we "have", it is what we "have done" that counts.
