Questioning whether the concept of God can be disproved

I don't believe the theory of God can be disproved, however what is "God" can be left to question. Is it a "he", "she", or something quite intangible?

What has been proved is the existence of Jesus (the son of God) as well as Buddha and a plethora of other "prophets". I find the Christian "version" of God to be the most troublesome one. According to scripture He is THE only one, so is that to say that all other religions are wrong in their beliefs? How absolutely arrogant on their part, it is because of this that a lot of the "original" religions have been wiped out during the religious cleansing that has occurred throughout history.

Now don't get me wrong I'm not writing this simply as a Christian bashing, and I was raised and confirmed a Catholic, but I can no longer tolerate the "teaching" of a religion that has used its power to forcibly convert so many "non believers" (and it did not matter that they had their own beliefs in place, in fact that was the problem.)

If the Christian God is the one and only God then what happens to the rest of the human race that believes in something quite different? Do they all go to hell for following the teachings of another, or must they all repent and convert before being let into the "Golden Arches".

What I do tend to lean toward is the thought that God is a free flowing energy source that has Its energy in every living thing on this as well as any other planets. It is this energy that has manifested the prophets as well as you and I. It is through understanding that we all share the same energy source that we may be able to bridge the divide left by the religious wars that have plagued this planet for so long.
