myspace page, web page, profile page or any other page on the Internet you are making yourself a target of any potential spammer. Remove your email address from all of these Internet sites and your spam should slow down. If you find that you have to have a email address on listed on the Internet, use a disposable free email address as noted in tip 3.
7. Never respond to a spam email. If you respond and ask for more information or even to ask them to stop sending their spam, you are in fact encouraging these spammers to send you more spam. Do not respond, do not visit their websites and never order anything from their companies unless you wish to receive a lot more spam than what is already in your inbox.
8. When you sign up for Internet websites, chat rooms, forums or Internet programs in general, most of these programs offer you an opt-out option. By clicking the opt-out when you are registering you are telling the company that you do not wish to be spammed by any of their advertisements.
9. Remove your address from Internet Directories such as People Search and any other directories that list your email information publicly. Normally all of these sites have a place to remove your listing from their website.
10. Report those who are spamming you. There are several private and government organizations that are willing to accept your spam complaints, while reporting your spam complaint may help you feel better, I can not assure you that theses organizations will be able to do anything to actually stop the amount of spam that you are actually receiving. You can also forward spam to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission at spam@uce.gov. www.fraud.org and www.spamcop.net are two websites to look into for reporting spam.
I hope that these tips will benefit you in your quest to get rid of the unwanted spam that is cluttering your inbox.
