Normally surfing the Internet can be quite enjoying and even a relaxing thing to do, until you open up your email and start downloading hundreds of emails. Congratulations you've got Spam! Spam is messages that are considered unsolicited e-mail messages and are quite often touting get rich quick schemes, miracle diets, amazing beauty products or pornographic pleasures. I know that I am quite tired of receiving spam and I am going to show you some tips on how to reduce or possibly even get rid of completely the amount of spam you receive.
Spammers usually have two ways to acquire their email lists. Either by buying them from other companies or by using software programs that mine the Internet. If you post your email anywhere on the Internet then you are increasing your chances of receiving spam. There are several solutions to this dilemma.
1.Try to only post your email publicly when you absolutely have to.
2. If you find that you absolutely need to post your email address on line then try to use this alternative, example nospam*at*kalamzoo.net then make sure to inform people that wish to contact you to replace *at* with the @ sign. This makes it hard for the software programs to harvest your email and send you spam.
3. Alternatively you can also use the free email address services that are provided by places such as Yahoo, Gmail and Hot mail to name a few. By using these alternatives to your regular email you will have the added benefit of posting or signing up for offers with that email and never have to worry about spam coming to your main email address. Merely go in every so often and check all the messages and hit delete, quick and easy.
4. Many different email accounts have tools that are built-in and designed so that they can block messages sent from certain addresses or filter messages based on keywords that you can define. Simply set your offending spam email as one of the address that needs to be blocked and usually the spam email will automatically go into your delete box upon arrival. 5. Install anti-spam software, which is designed specifically to eliminate spam, onto your computer. Some of these anti-spam software programs work by matching incoming messages against a list of known spammers; while some other anti-spam software programs block messages that don't match a pre-approved list of acceptable addresses.
6. By listing your email address on your
