No, President Bush should not and I believe, would not give up on the Immigration issue, nor should anybody. It is not his fault that he is not getting a Bill on his table to sign. There is no bill yet, but the issue is still looming. We simply cannot mess with 12.1 million lives. Above all, they are human beings and deserve to be treated as humans. In a country where we are concerned about cruelty to animals, it will be a total irony to do nothing about the undocumented aliens.

If the Senate or the Congress cannot come up with a solution to this issue and pass a bill, nor to the least, actuate something that I proposed in my article "Practicable Solution To Immigration Standstill and Border Security Without Constructing The Fences" which appears on Helium website as How To Deal With Control Issues At The US Border under sub-heading US Immigration under the heading Politics, News & Issues, then the lives of 12.1 million humans will be the lives of 12.1 million undocumented aliens (euphemistically)or quite bluntly "illegals" and some people then, without any consideration to the weather, would want to put those illegals in captivity in a tent prison near the border, force them to wear pink underwear only and no other accouterments, would want to give them nothing to eat besides bologna sandwiches and make them atone for 5 to 7 years by giving labors without pay before finally getting kicked out of the United States. This certainly would work as a perfect deterrent against future flow of the illegals no doubt, but this certainly would diminish the Face Value of the U.S.A. to nothing. The rest of the world presently has a very little perceived value of the U.S.A. and this really giving us some problem in maintaining the face value. America's face value is life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. The power of America emanates from the respect for the individual; the infrastructure of America is individual rights and freedom. Preserving the face value of America and keeping as leader of the free world are far more important than the legalization of 20 million undocumented aliens. Therefore, this issue has to be solved and and when we solve this issue, we have to remember - 12.1 MILLION UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS ARE HUMAN BEINGS; NOT STRAY CATS THAT SNEAKED INTO OUR KITCHEN.
