Poetry: On love

by Jay Morgetron

Created on: August 07, 2007

Well it hurts, doesn't it?
When you wake up
and your mind is aching
because you realize
that who you are
doesn't match
what she wants

And you can't change
- YOU CAN'T -

It would be like a bird trying to teach itself to not fly

You don't want her to change
- YOU DON'T -

It would be like driving a knife through Mona Lisa's face

But you can learn from it
- YOU CAN -

Learn and love will come

It will hit you in the face
with a flying anvil

It may break bones
but it will be.
