Others who lived before you know what is best for you. Or so they think. But you may have a better chance for guardians who know how they raised the two of you to know if you are compatible or not. This may not be such a bad idea. Sometimes peoples differences are so extreme because they are raised to think very differently.

The best part of the relationship is getting to know one each other and finding that special something that lets you know your spouse is going to take care of you. Marriage is a unity between two people who hold a very strong commitment to one another. Having each other's back until the end. A marriage should not be based on the looks (which will fade), or anything superficial. If the marriage is going to work, you must become the best of friends from the very start before anything sexual comes into play. If you can just enjoy each others company and point of views, and are in agreement with what life should be, you have it made. If you don't, you will end up on the wrong side of the 50% ratio of divorce.
Even though you are free to marry who you want, if you have the slightest doubt, get out!
The best of luck to you all.
