Colors have a unique vibration which is known in color healing.
How would you describe color? By the very vibration or emotion it stimulates within you.
Colors that have a warm and vibrant temperature are red, orange and yellow and colors that are cool and relaxing are blue, green and purple.
This is how I would describe color to the visually impaired:
Red is like fire. It needs to be treated with care as it can be gentle and warm or an aggressive and out of control blaze speaking danger. Red can be powerful like a rage or as sexy like silk. It is a high energy color and you can feel its vibration and power.
Blue is like water. It can be soothing and cool like relaxing in a tub or quenching your thirst. It is like the faithfulness and loyalty of a friend. But, when feeling blue' it can be cold and distant.
Yellow is happy energy. It is warm and friendly like sunshine on your face. It has a sense of playfulness and confidence. It is what friendship is made of, good humor and the feeling of fun and confidence.
Green is like the smell of nature, like freshly mowed lawn. It stimulates the senses in a calm and nurturing way. It is the feeling of growth, harmony and optimism.
White is the feeling of peace and comfort and strength and purity and confidence within. It is the sense of innocence and the purity of love
Pink is the softness of cotton wool and the sweetness of candy. It is feminine, friendly and intuitive. It is like the feeling of holding a new baby; soft, delicate, loving and joyful.
Black is just like the strength of iron it is very powerful and strong. The power of black can also be very cold with feelings of loneliness, sadness and despair.
Purple is like when you are cool, calm and collected it is grand and majestic and a very spiritual color. But, purple traits in a person can also be insensitive, thoughtless and inconsiderate.
The visually impaired usually have highly developed sense of touch, sound, taste, and smell. They could probably teach us to view our world in a more sophisticated way. We often rely on our sight to the exclusion of our other senses and miss out on the many wonders of nature and our environment and its complex levels of how we can be and are truly touched.
