Does the US Patriot Act undermine Americans' freedoms?

Article ToolsNever in the course of the history of the USA has there been such an act as the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act is similar to the Enabling Act of Nazi Germany when Hitler signed it into law in 1934 doing away with freedoms in Germany and removing German Citizneship from its Jewish Population.
The Patriot Act is also similar to laws used by Castro to supress freedoms in Cuba, Chavez to supress freedoms in Venezuela, and Mugabe to suporess freedoms in Zimbabwe. The Patriot Act has been used against innocent people because of a difference of opinion or "for not being American enough".
The Patriot Act has added more layers of bureaucracy to an already bloated government while the infrastructure of transportation and health lies neglected. I at times no longer feel part of the USA. It would be easy to leave but that would give a victory to the Republican/Democratic Elite that governs this country.
I personally challenge the people of the USA and the world to force pressure on the Republican/Democratic Elite to hold Free and Fair Elections and allow other parties to compete fairly without the use of money in these elections. If the situation continues at the present rate, the USA will have either a dictatorship [which it has] or a civil war which could lead it to being dissolved.
